Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born October 1st 1969) is an American comedian, actor, musician, and writer. He was a comedian, actor as well as a host on Late World with Zach (VH1) Galifianakis has been a star in numerous films including The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis has voiced characters in animated films such as Puss In Boots (2011) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017). He also voices Missing Link (2019) and Ron's Gone Wrong (2211). Galifianakis is currently hosting the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. He was also a part of FX's show Baskets. In 2017 Galifianakis was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actor in the Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st of October, 1969. The son of community center owner Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil vendor Harry Galifianakis. His mother is English and Scottish-Irish. his paternal grandparents hail from Crete. He was baptized according to his father's Greek Orthodox faith. He has Merritt the younger sister of his and Greg the older brother of his. The cousin of his Nick Galifianakis (Washington Post cartoonist) is his uncle. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School, and subsequently attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in communications. He was an operator for a radio at an access station for the public while at college. In 1991, he taught the class of waltz and came across Mary J. Blige. After his television debut Boston Common, Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live for two weeks.
